FIA ETRC Pays Tribute to Monsieur Patrick Folléas

FIA ETRC, ETRA Promotion and the entire truck racing community are saddened to learn about the passing of Monsieur Patrick Folléas.

The owner of the French Lion Truck Racing team and transport company BFT died in Lyon on Wednesday at the age of 54, leaving behind his wife Maryline and three young daughters Lisa, Chloé and Emmy.

Patrick set up BFT Transport et Location in 1989, which he jointly managed with his brother Bruno. A visionary businessman, he was never short of ideas, led his employees like a father figure and turned BFT into a successful company over the last three decades.

Through his passion for trucks and his involvement in the transport industry, it came somewhat natural to the Frenchman to acquire the Lion Truck Racing team in 2012. An outstanding entrepreneur and boss, he quickly became a pillar of truck racing and lead his team to 6 French Championship titles in only 8 years.

"Patrick Folléas was a significant figure in truck racing and has greatly contributed to the development of our championship,” said Rolf Werner, Managing Director of ETRA, promoter of the FIA ETRC.

"He was very passionate about our sport and will be sadly missed in the paddock.

On behalf of the FIA ETRC I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his wife and three daughters, his friends, acquaintances and colleagues at this very sad time.”
